Located on the east side of the Luxi River, Xiangbi Mountain is named after a huge mountain shaped like an elephant. There are many scenic spots in this mountain, including Elixir Box, Red Cliff, the Observation Platform, Zhengyi Peak, Centenary Cave, Lion Turning, and Golden Turtle, etc. The mountain has such resemblance to an elephant that people regard it as “the first immortal elephant in the country”. This scenic spot is an important part of Longhu Mountain National Geopark. With towering peaks and cliffs, surging currents, green trees and vines hanging on the cliffs, and waterfalls sliding down cliffs, it integrates the unique, precipitous, beautiful, and secluded characteristics of landscape and varied formations, making this place a rare collection of Danxia landforms, particularly valuable for both scientific exploration and leisure tourism.
